Movies outing @ Tampine

oh yea~ has been a while since i am back in katong school and mix with the kids there =)
kinda miss them that's for sure haha.
and guess wat it's time for the students to have another fun outing again =D
where are we off too this time? =x
to the cinema with us zoomm~~yes! it's time for movies : Horton

Everyone was so excited upon the trip out.and so am i haha.
off we go on bus 31 towards our destination.
today i am attached with the class 5-1
this class is mostly consist of girls and 3 boys.
and u guess it i am with the 3 of them.but well i am kinda sad they were a little quiet though =/
but well i have to say.the 2 boys who were together took very good care of each other =)
now that's wat i call a good friend in need indeed.

well as we followed on walking from the interchange to tampines mall.the class follow on the teachers in charge looking everywhere at the vast shopping center with topic of which i didnt catch (i was behind >.<) but finally we reached the place and yes =) nachos and popcorns were the first order XD kidding well everyone settles down near the entrance awaiting for entrance.and of cos so is my cam =P it's just too bad i wasnt able to take a lot this time x.X

as u can see from below everyone was waiting patiencely yet wanting to burst out the excitment of going in for the movie nevertheless everyone behaved themselves

after the show everyone has all words of praiser for the heroic elephant and lots of chatting over the adventures of horton.smiling faces are hanging everywhere on the students' faces.
Another fine day for a outing that strikes a smile in everyone.as much as it will strike in mine as well.looking forward to bringing another class out again for a outing =) until next time Ja nee~

Deepavali Outing

ooooowww yet another festive season have arrived.yap it's our well know deepavali.
also known as the festival of light.this is the time where indians from all over gathered to celebrate .nah ah =) but it doesnt meant thatonly the indians will celebrate it.we have come to again to let the student of katong school to feel wat's like when this much anticipated celebration is all about.

so come abroad and feel the mood right away ^^

a bus trip to little india fills the bus with all laughter and excitment as the students gets near the location.but hey it's morning ya know.u cant start your day without eating something right? XD

so our first stop was the roti prata shop opposite of tekka mall.and ummmm is it yummy .dont u feel it too when u see the below pics? XD

everyone quickly settle in and got a place ready for order

wow it's hard to believe the shop was able to hold all 3 classes of pupils^^

haha here we see one putting all the sauces of curry yum yum.makes me wanna have a bite T,T

wanna know wat's so special about this pic?notice how "BIG" they are ?filled with potato,egg and other stuff.the "special" set meal.sure too them sometimes to eat though haha.

after the scrumptious meal (and my cup of warm teh tareh.oh did i mention it was raining that morning? x.X)
we continued our journey into the crowded little india.where they have already started off setting up the little lanes with all the accessories and house deco u would need to make a deepavali a unforgettable one.
all sorts of colours as well as food/snacks that they sold there was a sight u wont forget easily.dont believe? see for yourselves then =P

"ruffler, ruffler,squeezy, squeezy" that's all i acn say about the small lane with loads of stuff selling

cramping through the small yet rombustic little lane of stalls made everyone wonder why we need shops =X.but anyway it was really crowded in there.we even manage to meet up with the other few classes walking from the opposite direction =)
so eventually there was a lot of hi/byes in the center.how fun can it get =P

our dear volunteer eric(guy in blue) was all cheerful and all into the festive mood hmm i wonder wat was he pointing at ?@.@

after a long tiring tour around the little india we decided to have a pit stop at the market area for a nice cool drink.everyone gathered there with their money all ready to get a pack of nice icy drink.

wow look at the time.it's already passed 3/4 of our visiting time
so our final destination would be the tekka mall where the kids will get to shop around for stuff.

even with that the students we quite excited..

look at the crowds~.it gotta bea shopping spree with loads of discount all over haha.

after everyone gotten so puzzle books most of us we sitting down resting while waiting for the bus.some student we eager to try out their puzzle books even before they got on the books~.

haha some even exchanging stuff in their handphones~ hey sent me the latest mp3 songs pls~~

awww the trip has ended .everyone broaded the bus and awaits for the arrival upon their school.even then the smiles on their never cease to keep on smiling =)

this closes the episode of deepavali.but hey u never know wat's next or wat we will visit again~~hope to see u all there next time =)

Haha yes here we have again another nice and
wonder day of event for the kids in Katong school
But it's not an outing this time,it's time for sports and games~
the event started off pretty early all the volunteers gathered as early as 6.30am +
for all briefing and positions as well as task which we all must do.

as you can see volunteers has started packing bags of milo and other stuff to prepare for the days event~
i was quite an honour to have students
from Singapore Poly joining in the event as well

not forgetting the gathering audiences ,parents and teachers~!

even the participants are excited as they await the the teacher's instruction for which team and event they are suppose to go for.
they are at "all ears " to the events ^^

Now let's move on to the events ^^
Long jump was the first event to start of the day.
every students was eager to have their turns in making a records ^^

round 1 started off with the parent-child teams with a out most exciting war.
who say u can be a good team with u are with your moms and dads ^^

omg the suspense!! XD gogogo ~

the sports day ended with a complete success
haha just look at all of us taking a long chatty break from the hot day's sun
a well deserve rest XD.

A wonderful event that has been set for players of GE to share the hearts and care for needy has once again bloom this July as 6 players from Carracci and Cerventes
come together again once more for Katong School's outing.many ppl find it a bother to
be associated with children of special schools but it's really kinda sad for me to see how ppl react in such a awful way.looks differed from the way they think and it's really not as all would have think of it to be.these children are as lively as most normal school apart from the looks.i was amaze at how active they are too on the outing.so i guess i would wanna share this to everyone in the world and make a little better understanding to everyone and stop ppl from having thoughts that made stay away from them.

Well cutting the crap,the current outing was a trip out into the city,Where our biggest shopping landmark is,Suntec City.A children's Arts exhibit on the heritage of the olden kampong days.With storytelling of Grandpa's tales to drawing and designing kept me mesmerized as much as the students.seeing how the students react to the exciting tales of how children of the olden days would play compare to the gadget that we have these days amazes everyone.everyone listens tensely as the suspenses of the story gets higher.

The visiting of different stations where daily usage of the old kampong days were displayed all over the stations.Old ice kacang maker to pots and pans as well.The teacher-in-charge brought the student to tour around the site,teaching them the use of the items with the much eager student following behind.

everyone came back to the gathering spotwith much eager as it's time to draw a memory of anything they saw earlier.with much haste the student starts off their creativity and i am dazed with the interesting drawing that they made.there we other student from other school present there as well so the place was a little cramp but that didnt really affect them haha.

and pictures away~ each and everyone pasted the art pieces on the Wall of Memories it was filled with all the drawings of the student.i have to take a pic of them for the great work that they did!with a smiling pose from one of the cheerful student =)

moving on to the next arts location would be the box decoratig area.pasting lovely designs on a plain box was a fun thing that the kids enjoyed.everyone happily decorating their cake boxes with laughters and much anticipation

the exhibit came to an end as everyone rest in a corner eating their lunch before going for the last visiting place.which would be the most fun place that i notice on the kids.the well know Koi Pond located at the basement of Suntec.every was so eager to feed the fishes as they gathered around the pond,throwing feeds to the Koi fishs.some of them even notice something that even a adult would have missed too,a unexpected finding in a koi pond a live lobster haha.to my disbelieving ears have made me walk towards them.my eyes made it certain that my ear wasnt lying at all haha,a real live lobster...in a koi pond? o.O.i was slow to take a pic down though as it swiftly hidden itself upon discovered

everyone was happy that day as we went back with smiles and enthusiasm of riding the MRT again.it rained but that didnt dull the atmosphere of the kids at all with everyone happily going home.Mission complete for the day haha.

Gathering after the community service

everyone of us gather back together after we completed our outing with our classes of outing.as we waited for Our well know Hrin to arrive at Xin Wang resturant for a dinner gathering.with the nite full of laugther as we enjoyed the great taste of hong kong dishes.smiles and laughter lifted the air with much memories of the day.and everyone looked forward to the next community event hoping to gather again and have fun together.

24th July GE community service outing
